Murdered: Soul Suspect PC Game Review

Murdered: Soul Suspect is an adventure game (Yes, that genre you almost forgot!), and it really comes close to what true fans of the genre would enjoy. On its own, it can hardly be compared to Syberia or The Longest Journey, but playing it can give you a couple of hours of fun… if you’re not picky.

In this game, you play as Police Inspector Ronan O’Connor, who is… well, dead.

plot and the main ideas are nice. Overall, paying a ghost where things can happen in the real, physical world is awesome. Especially in an adventure game. Another special thing is that – Hello! – You don’t have any zombie-like, Resident Evil-like, war-like events, etc. Whatever enemy you must meet and “fight” is not out to kill you! Yes, (SPOILER) you can run away from them… All NPCs are low on carbs, obviously, as they cover a very small space. Even if you defeat a demon in the same room as another, the second guy will ignore you.

Romantic drama – You have a wife named Julia, who has been the reason for changing your life. Because of this, his death makes you feel quite blue and you act with much less brains and a lot of aggression. This is also, I think, our main reason (to act like him) to go to the first scene where we end up dead.

My opinion? I like this as much as I can; I mean… a lot of us have to have something tragic happen in a person’s life to feel close to them. To me, romance seems unnecessary, but for a game with the framework and goals set by the producers, it’s obvious that it has to be there. What I liked (see the second sentence of this paragraph) was that they didn’t make her pregnant or make her a whiny father figure.

Real drama: Salem is a hell of a nest for witches and well, being a tough guy there probably can’t save you from witchcraft, witch hunts, and everything that happened in the past. You are a more suitable victim for an influential enemy than a simple girl.

The twists and plot lines fit well into this game and it’s easy to like. The only thing you need to know when buying this game is that it’s an old-school adventure game with an individual feel and plenty of time to think and nice, quiet areas to explore. This is not Far Cry, not Uncharted, not Resident Evil. It’s not Aura or Myst either, though.

to play on the other hand it’s very basic and I love it! Except for the demons you have to exterminate, it’s a simple first-person point-and-click adventure, but in a 3D world. You have almost no reason to worry and make mistakes. The only problem with the gameplay, however, is the lack of real puzzles. It seems like it was too expensive (more like making a 3D version of a sheriff-looking police inspector in his full outfit, including the cigarette and smoke…as a ghost) or too hard for the team at Airtight, but…yeah. – A true adventure game needs a puzzle or two (at least) before it gets the action feeling qualities.

Just so you know…

A fairly famous gaming website’s review of the game says, “The only way to eliminate the truly terrifying soul-sucking demons in Murdered is to get right behind them, and the only way to get right behind them is to hide in the ruins of individual ghosts. souls, which are tightly packed and therefore , which create a sort of teleportation system for Ronan.”

Here is the source of the quote (I wouldn’t advise you to click on it, but being ethical I link to the source).

Well, this is pretty bad. For some reason, since I’ve already spoiled it, you can get away with it. For another reason – you can hide in the walls. If you don’t get in their line of sight when they’re spinning, get out of the wall and “exorcise” them from this world.

However, one thing you should know: if the ritual is not performed correctly, these creeps will follow you through walls and stairs until you are out of their range.
